Davenport & Company names I. Lee Chapman IV Head of Retail Sales
RICHMOND VA September 26, 2011—Coleman Wortham III, President and CEO of Davenport & Company LLC announced today that I. Lee Chapman IV has been named Head of Retail Sales. Chapman has been a portfolio manager with Davenport Asset Management since 1995 and Co-Manager of the Equity Opportunities Portfolio since 2010. He is also a member of the firm’s Investment Policy Committee, Board of Directors, and Executive Committee.
In his new role, Chapman will oversee the retail sales activities of Davenport & Company and help enhance the firm’s strong suite of product and service offerings. “Throughout his career at Davenport, Lee Chapman has gained the confidence and admiration of our clients and colleagues with his solid knowledge of investing and investor needs, as well as his careful and thoughtful manner,” said Wortham. “Lee will continue to serve as Co-Manager of the Equity Opportunity Portfolio, and, importantly, continue to serve his retail client base.”

Chapman began his career in the financial services industry in 1993 with Nations Securities in retail bank brokerage operations before moving to retail sales. Chapman is a native of Richmond where he continues to live with his wife, Martha, and three children. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
