Davenport & Company names I. Lee Chapman IV President & COO

Coleman Wortham III, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Davenport & Company LLC, announced that I. Lee Chapman IV has been named President & Chief Operating Officer.

Chapman was promoted to Head of Retail Sales last year. He serves on the firm’s Executive Committee, Investment Policy Committee, and Board of Directors. He also co-manages the Equity Opportunities Portfolio. Chapman began his career in the financial services industry with Nations Securities in retail bank brokerage operations. A graduate of the University of Virginia, he joined Davenport in 1995 as a portfolio manager in Davenport Asset Management.

“With our primary focus on investment advice, Lee’s experience in managing money uniquely qualifies him to be the next leader of our firm,” said Wortham. “He has been working closely with me for nearly a year and is ready to assume full responsibility for the daily, operational management of the firm.”
